Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the platform engineering CoC, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high levels of performance and employee engagement
- Identify demand for platform engineers in technology group organisations, Interview and hire them
- Develop training and upskilling plans and goals for CoC members
- Manage long-term assignment of platform engineers to platform product teams, ensure performance feedback loops
- Collaborate on DevSecOps standards together with CoC members and enterprsie architects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams evolve DevSecOps practices
- Manage and allocate external platform engineering resources effectively, including interviews and performance reviews
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in platform & DevSecOps practices, recommending and implementing process improvements and best practices
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, quality standards, and health and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Professional knowledge at masters degree level
- Many years of practical experience as a Platform & DevSecOps engineer (d/f/m)
- In-depth knowledge of platform engineering principles and practices, with expertise in a platform engineering discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess risks, and develop effective solutions
- Proven experience in people management, including hiring, performance management, retainment and capacity management
- Familiarity with relevant platform engineering tools, standards and processes, in particular K8s, Terraform, Crossplane, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, Flux, ...
- Experience in managing and leading a team of platform engineers, fostering collaboration and teamwork
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts and ideas.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish strong relationships
