What you will do
Conduct research projects on optical communications, application areas include classical and quantum transmissions
Development of innovative communication systems for transmission via optical fiber and free beam
Use of project results for publications (e.g. conferences), creation of intellectual property, and acquisition of new research projects
What you bring to the table
Excellent Master's and/or PhD degree in electrical engineering or physics.
Programming skills (e.g., C/C++, Matlab, Python, VHDL, etc.) for system control, data analysis, and simulations
Knowledge and experience with optical systems (e.g. optical components, single photon processing, optical propagation, etc.), optical design (e.g. Zemax), and high-frequency electronics
Strong personal commitment
Ability to work in a team, independently, and autonomously

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.
The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
