Purpose & Overall Relevance for Organization:
The Risk Finance & Transfer Department is responsible for protecting adidas’ profit and assets through efficient & innovative risk financing, transfer and mitigation for relevant exposure by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to analyze significant existing and emerging exposures.
The Senior Manager Risk Control and Engineering designs and implements loss prevention and risk engineering programs to manage property damage and business interruption risks (e.g. caused by hazards such as fire, floods, or other natural disasters) worldwide, thereby supporting the stability of insurance premiums as well as the assurance of long-term insurability of related risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored engineering services for existing and future facilities, particularly distribution centers, major office locations and major retail stores (e.g. flagship stores)
- Drive adidas stakeholder awareness for possible property damage, business interruption and natural hazards and other related threats
- Analyse and evaluate relevant risks incl. impact and probability as an integral part of all risk control and engineering activity and in the selection process of external vendors
- Define, align and maintain company’s global warehouse standards and general property loss prevention guidelines
- Continuously educate relevant stakeholders risk control and engineering requirements incl. adidas warehouse standards Manage relationship with risk engineering functions of property insurance carrier Organize and conduct on-site risk assessments and follow-ups on recommendations/improvements Support various x-functional initiatives to improve the of company resilience and overall risk quality

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive business understanding of processes and structure
- Working knowledge of NFPA or equivalent industry/country standards as well as practical knowledge of Factory Mutual data sheets
- Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
- Ability to maneuver in constantly changing environment
- Ability to operate cross-functionally (i.e. work with stakeholders from various functions and various locations)
- Ability to operate as independent expert without managing a direct team
- Highly motivated, driven to deliver and succeed
- Very good influencing, negotiation, collaboration, analytical skills and communication skills for persuasion and convincing others both internally and externally
- Proven experience in Project Management
- Proficiency to develop tactical and operational plans
- Facilitation and coaching skills to train management teams on risk engineering requirements
- Business fluency in English (written and spoken), other languages a plus
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Successfully completed engineering degree, preferably with a focus on mechanical engineering, fire protection or loss prevention.
- 5+ years professional experience, thereof at least 3 years in risk control and engineering
