Local Unit & Position Description:
The successful applicant will have a primary focus on German onshore wind projects within the broader Northern Europe onshore wind market. You will be working in close collaboration with your German colleagues and our Northern Europe team and colleagues around the globe to provide onshore wind energy analytics, engineering and consulting services.
You will be involved in the planning, development, construction, and operation phases of wind farm projects. Our projects vary across services such as wind resource assessments, energy production assessments, technical and/or commercial studies, technical due diligence, bankability reviews, construction monitoring, qualification of new technologies, and more.
Your tasks may not be limited to onshore wind, but could involve other renewables such as (floating) offshore wind, (floating) solar, wave power and integrated energy systems as well.
The role will be focused for the better part on the STG/TR6 accredited services and automation of data analysis related tasks in the field of meteorology and wind farm production, analysis of large data sets to support service development, undertake wind resource and energy production assessments for onshore wind projects. The role could also include involvement in development assignments, technical due diligence assignments, strategic advisory assignments, specific individual solutions to complex problems, involvement in strategic research and development projects (internal and external) and support and preparation of offers, bids or participation in tender processes with complex technical tasks.
The overall purpose of the job is to support the on- and offshore wind team in its role to help DNV safeguard life, property and the environment and achieve our company vision: to be a trusted voice to tackle global transformations.
The role is permanent and initially ideally based in Hamburg, Germany, but Oldenburg can also be considered.
In your work you will:
- Lead and participate in wind data analytics projects, among others;
- Prepare, review and consult wind resource and energy assessment reports;
- Support Clients with all project related matters;
- Support the preparation of offers and tenders;
- Conduct site visits, sometimes abroad;
- Completing projects without compromising on quality;
- Guide less experienced colleagues in customer communication and project management
Position Qualifications:
To maximize your chances, you need:
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field. Subjects related to onshore and/or offshore wind, renewable energy, offshore and/or maritime industry is an advantage;
- 10 years or more experience in the field of onshore wind WRAs, EPAs and STG;
- Ability to work effectively within a consultancy environment;
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail;
- Fluency in English and German;
- Strong presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written);
- Excellent ability to produce clear written reports and presentations in English and German;
- Ability to co-operate well with others; share knowledge, experience, and information; and support others in pursuit of team goals;
- Good knowledge of programming and data analysis
