Opportunity:

Our Audio AI product portfolio includes ECNR solutions for hands-free telephony and multi-zone speech recognition, as well as software solutions for in-car communication (ICC), car Karaoke and acoustic event detection. We are looking for a dedicated individual to take over a position as Audio / Software Engineer for configuration, tuning and qualification of our Audio AI products.
Responsibilities:

Review of the audio architecture for Audio AI applications in close cooperation with the customer

Analysis of customer and third-party requirements
-
Integration support for Cerence’s speech enhancement solution on embedded platforms
-
Accomplishment of audio path measurements, analysis of test results and first level customer support for audio related issues

Configuration, tuning and qualification of Cerence’s speech enhancement technology for embedded and cloud based ASR solutions, hands-free telephony applications and other Audio AI products

Ensure compliance with quality standards and prepare appropriate documentation

Development and adaptation of test tools and existing test scripts

Creation of customer demonstrations und support in the development of proof of concepts

Support in project acquisition
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering, communications technology, computer science or in a related field; industry experience in one of these domains is preferred. An academic background in digital signal processing, speech and audio processing is desired.

Required skills:

Academic background in digital signal processing, speech and audio processing or similar

Programming skills in MATLAB, Python and C / C++

Good communicator who can represent Cerence professional services with customers

Ability and willingness to travel across-boarder and internationally

Excellent language skills in English and at least elementary German or willingness to learn German

Positive can-do attitude and ability to work in a team
Preferred skills:

Experience in software development for embedded systems in either automotive, consumer electronics or telecommunications

Familiarity with embedded HW and operating systems (e.g. Android, embedded Linux) is a plus

Experience with ITU-T qualification standards for hands-free communication in motor vehicles (ITU-T P.1100, P.1110, P.1120)

Knowledge of audio/speech enhancement processing components deployed in hands-free and ASR applications

Good language skills in German
