Senior Consultant in Mergers & Acquisitions and EU Competition Policy & Merger Clearance
What can you look forward to?
Assessing political and regulatory developments and advising on strategies and/or campaigns to shape competition policy & merger review cases, and the surrounding media and stakeholder debate.
Taking on a project lead/management role, contributing to the development of more junior colleagues, as well as establishing yourself as a key client contact on several M&A and competition policy related projects.
Drawing on your competition policy expertise, your everyday tasks will include managing the teams’ monitoring of insights, and advising clients on their strategic significance, building policy and media networks, formulating communication materials, developing and presenting recommendations to the client, and supporting outreach with relevant EU stakeholders.
Driving efforts of our team in client acquisition and the further development of existing mandates.
What should you bring along?
You have gained at least five years’ work experience in the field of competition policy(-making), government relations, legal advisory, media relations and/or relevant EU institutional experience.
You can demonstrate relevant knowledge of EU competition law/policy.
You have gained experience in M&A transactions, especially in terms of merger review procedures and adequate corporate communications around those.
You can provide an overview of relevant EU antitrust media and journalist landscape.
Familiarity with leading EU antitrust law firms in Brussels and/or a legal background, through studies and/or work experience, is an asset.
You demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, intellectual curiosity, and strong competence in task/project management.
You show a keen understanding of and interest in politics and policymaking, societal trends, and economics, as well as the interplay between them.
Outstanding skills in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
