Stirling Dynamics GmbH is recruiting a Head of Office of Airworthiness to join their team in Hamburg, Germany.
Stirling Dynamics GmbH are looking for a talented and experienced Head of Office of Airworthiness (HoOA). The successful candidate will manage and supervise the scope of work of our Design Organisation (DO) for Aircraft Cabin and other Modifications within the team serving many airlines worldwide.
Within our EASA 21J Design Organisation, the successful candidate will be working on the design and certification documentation for CS-XX, Title 14 CFR-XX, JAR-XX aircraft/rotorcraft modifications. This requires an in-depth knowledge of the relevant airworthiness requirements and Cabin related certification.
This role will be based in our Hamburg office with occasional travel to our clients’ sites as required, however as part of our commitment to flexible working, employees are able to work remotely part of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and supervising the Stirling Dynamics Design Organization (DO) approved Scope of Work
- Conducting interviews for key personnel positions, in order to evaluate their background, knowledge and experience to be able to fulfil the objectives of the position within Stirling Dynamics GmbH
- Managing changes and coordinating continued airworthiness matters, assuring the adherence to the type / repair investigation procedures and corresponding responsibilities
- Releasing all deviations to design / repair data using Stirling Dynamics GmbH DO's Forms
- Being the company's focal point for EASA (internally/externally) for coordinating airworthiness and compliance matters in Stirling Dynamics Germany GmbH Design Organisation
- Being the focal point for incident reporting to Stirling Dynamics DO regarding evaluation and reporting to the authorities
- Being the Stirling Dynamics DO responsible for data storage and security according to EASA requirements
- Undertaking tasks according to EASA approved Stirling Dynamics Design Organisation Handbook (DoH)
- Planning, monitoring, control and coordination of tasks and projects within the scope
- Continuous improvement contribution
- Minimisation and monitoring of risks
- Regular reporting to the Business Unit Manager
- Reporting of training needs to the supervisor of project employees
- Early notification of potential problems and independent suggestions for improvements
- Support in acquisition tasks
- Support and encourage a constructive and cooperative collaboration within the different business centres of the organisation
- Compliance, application, and participation in the optimisation of the Stirling Dynamics-QM system
Qualifications:
- University Degree or equivalent in the field of aeronautical engineering, electrical and/or avionics engineering, software/ computer technology, production engineering or equivalent as suitable for the intended function as manager of the certification process
- Additional qualification in project management (desirable)
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge in aircraft design, production or maintenance
- In-depth knowledge of the relevant airworthiness requirements (CS-XX, Title 14 CFR-XX, JAR-XX)
- In-depth knowledge of EASA Part 21 requirements (formal training course certificate desirable)
- In-depth knowledge of national and international aviation regulations
- In-depth knowledge in establishing type investigation programs and compliance documentation
- Knowledge of configuration management and documentation
- Ability to manage and lead a team of engineers in the type investigation process
- Having a proficient level of confidence with Airworthiness Authorities
- Communication skills
- MS-Office skills
- Fluent in the English language (German nice to have)
Desired Skills:
- Previous EASA Form 4 approval in similar role desirable
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of industry experience (or equivalent)
- Experience in project management
