Job Purpose

Have you ever wondered why your smartphone is so shiny and doesn't get scratched so easily? Or why the screws in the engine compartment of your car don't rust?

The answer can be found in the work of surface coaters, who finish metal and plastic surfaces using electroplating and other techniques. By immersing the object in an electroplating bath, metals are applied to the surface using electrochemical processes. Job Responsibilities

What can you expect?

During your apprenticeship, you can expect varied and challenging tasks. You will have the opportunity to get to know various coating processes and learn how to prepare chemical baths. Our experienced instructors will show you how to control the chemical baths and perform quality tests. Together we will control the equipment and correct any errors that occur. You will also learn how to monitor and document the electroplating process to ensure that the quality of the products remains at a consistently high level.

Requirements & Qualifications

If you have the following, you've come to the right place!

• A qualifying secondary school diploma or a technical high school diploma / intermediate school leaving certificate
• An interest in technology and science subjects such as physics, chemistry and mathematics
• Strong manual skills and a high sense of responsibility
• An exact and careful way of working
