for the Didactics of History
The future professor should represent the subject in its entirety and in both research and teaching. We expect her/him to contribute to the existing study programs (BA and MA) of the Seminar of History, to teach courses in the field of Didactics of History and to supervise practical semesters. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the existing areas of research at the Seminar of History as well as the Philosophical Faculty, and to collaborate with the university’s Center for Teacher Training and Educational Research. Furthermore, we expect the willingness to actively and constructively participate in the self-governing bodies of the university. The teaching load is 9 hours per week.

- You have a doctorate in the field of Didactics of History or History (preferably Modern or Contemporary History) with a grade of at least “very good”.
- Preferably, you hold the state examination or the second state examination for teaching at schools providing general education, have extended experience in teaching at schools, or practical experience in the application and development of scientific knowledge and methods for schools (e.g. activity in teacher training seminars or in the development of curricula).
- Applicants should have a distinguished research profile (e.g. through internationally visible publications, third-party funding, relevant scientific collaborations).
- Experience in the field of historical learning and teaching in the age of digitization is desirable.
