Claire's are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to grow our rapidly expanding Consumer Products (CPG) business.
The purpose of the role is to prospect and win new retail partners for our CPG (Concessions and Wholesale) business in central/Eastern Europe. Claire’s is sold in thousands of retail stores including Walmart/Asda, Casino, Smyths, Franprix, Galeries Lafayette and many more, and we have aggressive plans to secure more partnerships across Europe.
The successful candidate will be a true 'business developer' and will have the network to be able to open the doors to new retailers. It is important that the candidate has strong German, English and French language skills and will ideally be based in Germany, Holland, France or Poland.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Accountability for ‘Winning’ new Partners – New to Claires in the nominated territories.
- Building and owning a Central/Eastern European Sales Pipeline to exceed our FY25 plan
- Building relationships/network across European retailers for future development (Prospecting across channels)
- Working as part of the team that drives the trade show strategies and execution for new virtual formats along with development for relationships with all major trade show organisations.
- Setting up trials with potential new partners and see through a path to roll outs with National and Multinational retailers.
- Working with the team to deliver the milestones, deliverables, and financial / on-financial targets.
- Partnering with key internal stakeholders in Legal, Finance, Operations Planning and Buying to ensure timely information is passed to allow seamless on boarding for new partners.
- Building and maintaining collaborative internal relationships across all business units.
- Driving key team business objectives and drive forward growth initiatives for the CPG business in Europe.
What are we looking for?
To be considered for this role we are keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
- New Business Development track record 5+ years
- Fluent German and English language plus conversation French desired
- High level Negotiation Skills: Experience negotiating with outside partners/ vendors; including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences
- High level relationship building and networking skills; Proven track record.
- Contacts in European Multinational retailers
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
- P&L understanding and high level commercial acumen
- Experience with legal set up of new contracts
