Mission

Join Valeo’s CarLab in the Innovation department of the Comfort and Driving Assistance Business Group: a dynamic team composed of a variety of people with different backgrounds, in a place thought around Design Thinking and new working methods principles.

Develop and promote user-centered innovation (Design Thinking) methodology and tools

• Be a driving and active part of our innovation lab “CarLab”: Support user-centered product development according to the CarLab approach (derived from Design Thinking) and contribute to all three phases (Inspiration Phase, Ideation Phase and Implementation Phase)

• Responsible for user centered innovation methodology (processes and tools) and its deployment in the different networks (R&I, R&D, Marketing…)

• Create and promote user centered innovation trainings

Prepare, facilitate and follow-up innovation workshops

• Prepare and facilitate innovation workshops for a variety of Valeo teams (R&D, R&I, Product Marketing, etc.)

• Support these teams in identifying the appropriate approach to meet their challenges

• Use a wide range of different methods and tools to ideate, innovate and collaborate

• Demonstrate innovative usages, features and concepts with rapid prototyping tools (scenarios, storyboards, videos, movies, 3D printing…)

• Patent innovative usages and make link with technologies

Support open and transversal innovation across internal networks (R&I, R&D, Marketing...), business entities, and external partners

• Take part in the international CarLab network across Valeo

• Help developing external partnerships with design schools and innovation structures

If you join us, you will…

• Work on a wide variety of projects, across the full perimeter of future mobility (Autonomous vehicles, AI, Electrification, Digital Services, Immersive on-board experiences…)

• Take design briefs with internal clients & re-frame them along the project to take new learnings into account

• Organize and animate creative workshops or sprints

• Coach internal clients to help them follow the right development path for their project

• Synthesize your findings visually, as a tool to help the client/teams understand stakes and take decisions

Who are we looking for?

We are searching for a passionate person, with a global vision and a humanistic approach of innovation, that will be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team to reinvent the future of mobility and design outstanding user experiences, while taking into account various aspects of the problem.

You have experience in a UX/UI, product or service design position, experience in facilitating workshops and user research.

You are:

• Autonomous , with a strong sense of initiative, and you know how to make things happen

• Open-minded , you aren’t afraid of going out of your comfort zone and trying new things

• Optimistic. You react to arising problems with enthusiasm and can quickly convince yourself that you will succeed in solving them

• Empathic, caring and inclusive. You often go out of your way to make people around you comfortable and you are willing to participate in creating and sustaining a strong team spirit

• fluent in English and in German (written, read, spoken)

You can:

• Facilitate any kind of workshop, just because it’s so much fun to use all the different tools and methods that you know and tried out

• Think visually and represent your ideas through quick doodles or refined sketches

• Perform various user research techniques, and select the right one for a given situation

• Work with many people from very different backgrounds, and be an advocate for design and user centered innovation, especially with clients and partners unfamiliar with the user-centered mindset

• Adapt in an ever-changing international and multicultural environment
