Student Assistant wanted for the chair of Data-driven Materials Modeling bei Technische Universität München
Student Assistant (m/f/d) wanted for the chair of Data-driven Materials Modeling bei Technische Universität München
time: 8 hr/week for 24 weeks
The expected tasks relate to the project "LeBeDigital", jointly undertaken by the TUM, Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). This deals with a) the digitization of concrete research, with the purpose of making the results permanently usable and publicly accessible, b) discovering functional relations between parameters in the concrete production chain using modern machine learning/model calibration methods, and c) developing optimization modules to optimize concrete mixture design to reduce the global warming potential of concrete. As part of the project, a workflow is created that simulates and optimizes the production of a precast concrete element using experimental data. The TUM is responsible for the model calibration and optimization part of the project. We are looking for support in programming scripts to automate the workflow and interact with modules shared by different project partners.
Git link : https://github.com/BAMresearch/LebeDigital/
Your Tasks:
1. Integration of the modules in the joint workflow shared by the project partners.
2. Building data pipelines to interact with other modules shared by project partners (experimental data/Finite element simulations etc).
3. Maintenance of the software modules and writing tests.
4. Helping in code documentation and cleanup.
5. Benchmarking the modules.
6. Managing the CI/CD pipelines.
Required skills/qualifications:
1. Studying computer science, informatics, data science or similar.
2. Good programming skills in Python.
3. Work experience in software development.
4. Sound knowledge of software testing, CI/CD pipelines, Linux, and Git.
5. Experience with handling knowledge graphs is a plus.
