8 biosimilars across immunology, oncology and endocrinology are already on the market, Sandoz Biopharmaceuticals has a leading biosimilars pipeline with additional molecules in various stages of development. As Preclinical Development Manager, you contribute to the future success of our biosimilar development. You are responsible for providing nonclinical expertise to assigned global cross-functional biosimilar program teams, leading the timely planning and execution of innovative and tailored nonclinical development programs
Your key responsibilities: Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Plan, organize, perform and document scientific experiments/activities, e.g. the development and qualification of in vitro cell-based and immunoassays for functional protein characterization, under supervision/in collaboration with experienced team members.
- Manage operational aspects in lab:
- Schedule and perform maintenance, qualification, calibration and cleaning of analytical instruments/equipment.
- Actively maintain laboratory inventory (e.g. chemicals, standards, consumables) within own area of responsibility.
- Work according to appropriate standards as defined in Quality Manual, SOPs, ethical, health, safety, environment (HSE), and information security (ISEC) guidelines.
- Provide documentation of raw data, evaluate results for method development and/or qualifications, routinely applied methods or procedures. Follow organizational procedure.
- Support interpretation and reporting of results and troubleshooting, if needed.
- Support optimization of existing methods/processes.
- Write documents, e.g. basic laboratory procedures / SOP’s or study plans and reports based on templates under supervision.
- Contribute to report writing (e.g. by preparation of tables and figures).
- Address and solve problems within own assigned area of responsibility. Recognize and communicate issues (e.g. deviations and unexpected results from experiments).
- Contribute to development of new methods/processes and reproduce published methods/processes or optimize existing methods under supervision.
- Collaborate within own and with other groups.
- Actively participate in knowledge exchange.

Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role: - Apprenticeship (e.g. CTA, MTA), or
BSc in Biology, Biotechnology or related Natural Sciences (or equivalent technical education)
- Good communication skills in English
- Good practical experience with cell-based bioassays as well as bioanalytical techniques (e.g. ELISA, ECL immunoassays, flow cytometry, luminescence)
- Experience with assays using primary cells is a plus
- Awareness for safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials.
- Adequate theoretical and scientific knowledge in the relevant area
- Adequate knowledge of relevant software and computer tools (at least Excel, Word, PLA is a plus).
- Good documentation skills and able to understand and exactly follow written procedures
- Experience with working in a regulated environment is a plus
