The Chair of Thermodynamics of Mobile Energy Conversion Systems (TME) at RWTH Aachen University under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Pischinger is located together with the Chair of Technical Thermodynamics (LTT) as the Institute of Thermodynamics within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University.
- Students in mechanical engineering, computational engineering science, chemistry (engineering) or similar
- Interest in battery systems for mobile applications and numerical simulation
- Good knowledge of at least one of the following software packages: Star-CCM+, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, Python
- Independent and structured way of working as well as quick comprehension skills
- Excellent written and spoken German or English skills
You will support the further development of the simulation methodology for multiphysical simulation (heat transfer, gas flow, particles, combustion, etc.) of thermal propagation in battery systems. Depending on your expertise, you will take on smaller simulation and programming tasks in the software packages mentioned. You will also carry out literature research on input parameters and modeling approaches.
The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term up to 3 months.
The option to extend the contract is available and desirable.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 10-19 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 13.00 € per hour.
