Sneak preview of your future tasks

As an applied ML engineer with focus on NLP, you will be part of a cross-functional development team working both on user-facing features of the MBUX Virtual Assistant as well as on the platform that allows us to build and operate these features. We develop and ship new functionalities with all required phases like design, documentation, implementation, integration, testing and deployment of code, following DevOps principles. With your expertise in machine learning and how to apply them in applications, you will mainly focus on processing natural language voice interactions with state-of-the-art techniques models and techniques. The specific tasks that you need to perform to that end comprise (but are not limited to) data preparation, model selection and experimentation, model training and fine-tuning, model evaluation, model deployment and operation.

Your Profile

Education:

• University degree in computer science, data science, computational linguistics, or a comparable education

Experience:

• Strong understanding of NLP and ML techniques, approaches and applied systems, including but not restricted to LLMs, prompt engineering, prompt chaining, RAG systems, as well as more traditional ways of supervised and unsupervised ways for structuring language data
• Solid data science skills, especially data preprocessing, data analysis, and data visualization
• Prior experience with cloud computing platforms
• Solid understanding in Python
• Working knowledge of version control systems especially git
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools & practices

Nice to have:

• Experience with the end-to-end development of conversational systems such as chatbot or voice dialog systems using open-source or commercial technologies and platforms (e.g. Whisper, RASA, langchain, Cerence/Nuance, SoundHound, Alexa, Google Assistant)
• Understanding of NLP metrics (e.g. for ASR / QA Systems / Intent Classification)
• Familiarity with the Azure platform and Kubernetes
• Experience with in-vehicle infotainment systems
• Experience of working with multiple engineering teams, steering product direction from discovery to delivery with a strong customer focus.
