WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
In this diverse role of high impact we are hiring an energized, tenacious and highly driven Business Development Specialist to join our team in our Avery Dennison Smartrac business (rfid.averydennison.com) in Europe with a direct reporting line to our Director Inlay Sales EMEA. The Business Development Specialist identifies, evaluates and manages new business opportunities and market initiatives. This position establishes relationships with potential clients and connects the new clients with the appropriate sales personnel. The incumbent will work closely with Solution Partners and End Users to identify and evaluate opportunities, as well as with the Sales Team to convert leads into sales.
Responsibilities
Identify, assess, develop, and manage new programs and new business opportunities for the assigned area, segments, and sub-segments, leading to successful commercialization efforts.
Responsible for market and opportunity analysis, as well as for the development and execution of business development and new venture development plans. Identify and evaluate entirely “new to Avery” business prospects for consideration that fit within the vision and capabilities of the business. Identify and evaluate new opportunities building off of existing technologies to new or existing clients.
Work with prospective clients and partners to identify unmet needs, implementing initiatives to meet those needs.
Provide exceptional customer experience for business partners and prospects to develop long-term business opportunities, developing and maintaining working relationships with them at all levels of their organization.
Lead and manage priority growth projects. Lead teaming efforts (and project management activities) that include R&D, manufacturing, quality and application development resources.
Monitor and report on industry trends. Incorporate knowledge of the industry to partner with Marketing to develop products, support materials, and pricing recommendations. Pursue leads partnering with Sales, transitioning business development client activities during commercialization.
Actively engage with the market presenting and promoting our RFID solutions. Train clients and partners on the benefits of RFID technology.
Work with Marketing and MarCom to formulate strategy and select key target markets. Identify prospective clients. Identify unmet client needs. Work to identify products and processes needed to meet those needs.
Participate and present in trade associations, technical conferences, exhibitions, industry events, and webinars related to target market opportunities.
Identify clients and products for “quick hit” project opportunities.
Assist in the development of divisional strategic and operating plans (i.e., AOPs, strategic plans, etc.).
Responsible for profitably growing the business, setting annual goals, and developing strategies to meet those targets.
Support the organization in forecasting your products and programs.
Navigate complex problems and structures to determine the best solutions for client needs.
May establish pricing programs and strategies. Secure optimum product positioning within target accounts., developing quotes and proposals for prospective clients in cooperation with the sales team.
