We are a leading-edge R&D team developing the NPX6 advanced Neural Processing Unit (NPU) supporting a wide range of AI-based inference applications including vision, radar, Lidar, audio, speech and sensor fusion. These are used in a wide range of embedded systems for automotive, consumer, mobile computing, robotics and AR/VR. The Synopsys NPX6 NPU supports well-established CNN and RNN models, but also the latest models, including Transformer and Recommender networks.
We are growing the system architecture team and looking for a new member to contribute to the specification and design of H/W, S/W and applications for the NPX6 NPU.
In this position, you will work with senior experts to contribute to the evolution of current products:
- Technical problem-solving during development cycles for HW/SW teams
- Contribute to NPU benchmarking activities and automation tools
- Contribute to the NPU mapping tool roadmap priorities
- Interactions with strategic customers
- Contribute to Ecosystem interactions
- Close interaction with Hardware and Software architects to best leverage the features of the NPX6 NPU
You will also contribute to the definition of next generation products:
- Track state-of-the-art deep learning and AI application drivers.
- Generalization of our NPU to an even wider range of AI and Deep Learning applications in vision, radar/lidar, sound, NLP, etc.
- Improvement of the HW/SW close coupling of the NPX6 NPU with our VPX family of vector DSPs.
- Identifying new Ecosystem partners
Qualifications for this position are as follows: - M.Sc. or Ph.D. with a minimum of 5 years of related experience with machine learning and heterogenous parallel processing platforms and tools.
- Good understanding of vision, imaging or video applications, and the use of embedded processors (GP-GPU, DSP, FPGA, multi-core platforms).
- Significant knowledge of machine learning principles and frameworks
- Knowledge and experience with the use of highly parallel processors, GP-GPUs
- Experience with the of programming tools for embedded systems (compilers, debuggers, ISS, profiling tools, runtime, etc.)
- Knowledge of vision and sensor fusion applications
- Experience with use FPGA-based prototyping boards
- Skills in system software (device drivers, middleware)
- Knowledge of operating system fundamentals
- Experience with the use of Linux and Windows O/S
- Experience with HW/SW development processes: project planning, version control, bug tracking
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
