WHAT WE OFFER
The AI, Advanced Analytics and Autonomy department is tasked with reinventing Covestro in the light of AI. You will play a central role in realising this vision and report to the Head of AI Engineering. By utilising AI, ML, data science and autonomous systems and agents as widely as possible, we are directly contributing to Covestro's vision of becoming fully circular and creating competitive advantage along the way. In your new role, you will help bring machine learning solutions to life and put them into production on our deployment architecture

You will actively contribute to solving challenges in the machine learning development cycle, especially in the area of distributed training in the cloud and data engineering
-
You will be responsible for keeping the existing models up to date, tracking model degradation, setting up autonomous retraining mechanisms and manually retraining the model when needed

You actively participate in the manipulation and harmonisation of data (structured, semi-structured and unstructured) from various sources to speed up our model building process

You take care of the definition and implementation of an efficient microservice architecture solution
WHAT YOU OFFER

You have a University degree (PhD or Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Systems or Computational Engineering or a comparable field paired with extensive work experience
-
You have several years of experience in the field of machine learning in an international environment and with virtual teams and in building solutions for the provision of machine learning with a strong focus on the AWS ecosystem
-
You also have experience with tools and frameworks such as Kafka, Spark, SQL and noSQL databases and edge computing
-
You have extensive experience with programming/scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python and R
-
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy working on a variety of different topics

You are an open-minded person and a functioning team is your top priority

You feel super comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and the opportunity to shape the future of ML/AI in a large organisation excites you

You have the ability to convince people and present in front of colleagues from different areas and different management levels

Fluency in written and spoken English and the willingness and ability to travel internationally round off your profile
