The Centre for Translational Bone, Joint and Soft Tissue Research (https://tu-dresden.de/med/mf/tfo/forschung) was founded in 2010 as a central scientific institution of the University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of the Technische Universität Dresden. The task of the center is the research and establishment of new regenerative therapy concepts in interdisciplinary cooperation of scientists, physicians and engineers. Since 2022, the center hosts a Ground-Based Facility "for Bioprinting" of the European Space Agency (ESA).
Starting at January 1st, 2024 we are looking for a
in part time, originally limited for a 29 month period.
As part of a project to prepare for bioprinting on the International Space Station (ISS), your task will be to plan, perform and evaluate in vitro experiments on bioprinting of a human skin model. The work includes the fabrication and characterization of bioinks, the generation of complex tissue engineering constructs using various bioprinting techniques, and the cultivation and characterization of the constructs using microscopic, biochemical, histological, and molecular biological methods. The work also includes the presentation of the results at conferences as well as in scientific publications.
Your profile:
- Diploma or M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences, Bioprocess Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines
- Very good knowledge of the English language
- Knowledge in scientifically correct working as well as the ability to work in a team are required
- Structured, result-oriented and reliable way of working
- Knowledge and experience in the field of Tissue Engineering, Additive Manufacturing and/or bioprinting is advantageous
