Your role:
As a Project Manager within the Engineering & Technology team, you are a critical business partner for the Life Science Sector and will be accountable for the planning and delivery of capital projects in close collaboration with production and maintenance. The Projects are significant in size and are usually of a complex nature. They will require detailed planning across all functions, alignment between multiple stakeholders and effective communication at all levels within the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the use of formal project management processes and tools in accordance with our standards, to manage internal/external resources, budget, risks, and scope. As part of the project reporting and communication, you will have exposure to upper management.
You contribute to the development and execution of the LS manufacturing and distribution strategy and will work with business and functional partners, to develop options for the technical and operational realization of business initiatives. You will build robust proposals enabling management decisions on investment, guide projects though approval processes and lead the overall execution of these initiatives. You are responsible for the project from the feasibility study (FEL0) up to the final commissioning and qualification (FEL5).
Key duties:
- Deliver a Project Safety Roadmap for Zero Injury, utilizing Standard safety processes, Multiple layers of protection, and a strong safety risk awareness culture.
- Lead project teams in definition, approval, execution, commissioning, and handover of capex investments
- Experience in leading brownfield projects in chemical or pharmaceutical industry,
- Ensure projects obtain all relevant capex approvals and are executed in compliance with the applicable governance requirements.
- Adhere to Project Management best practices in Cost, Schedule, Communication, and Governance to ensure excellence in execution and final handover to Global Production Organization
- Manage external service providers and contractors in execution of assigned project activities and deliverables to defined company standards.
Function as primary point of contact for escalations from internal or external stakeholders

Who you are:
- Technical degree to Bachelor/ Master level in Engineering required. Preferred in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering
- You have 5+ years of professional experience delivering capital projects as Project Manager.
- Experience delivering projects of significant size and high complexity in brown and greenfield projects.
- Ability to effectively identify, develop and lead high performing project teams and to set ad deliver realistic, challenging objectives.
- Excellent communication skills (fluency in English & Germany mandatory). Experience in developing compelling, fact driven technical content of business cases and securing investment decisions from execution leadership.
- Demonstrable ability to engage stakeholders, extract and refine business and technical requirements.
- Experience in building detailed project proposals and the supporting business cases to enable leadership approval.
- Experience implementing projects in a chemical process plant environment.
Experience in process plant construction and construction safety, and equipment installation practices.
