The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg is the largest solar research institute in Europe. Our approximately 1,400 employees work for a sustainable, economic, secure and socially just energy supply system based on renewable energies. For our group "Solar Building Envelopes" we are looking for a student assistant to start as soon as possible.
Do you want to be part of a highly motivated group and actively shape the energy transition? Then let's contribute with simulations around the topic of building-integrated PV (BIPV) so that BIPV becomes a respected, aesthetically pleasing and functional mass product.
What you will do
- You support the development and optimisation of BIPV simulations
- You carry out simulations independently, evaluate and visualise the results e.g. for industry enquiries or projects on these topics
- You help with project reports, publications in journals or for conferences
What you bring to the table
- You are studying architecture, civil engineering, building operations, building physics or a similar field of studies or have a background in supply engineering, mechanical engineering, physics or computer science
- You have good knowledge in programming, preferably in Python
- Good knowledge of data visualisation and the use of Linux is desirable
- You work independently, in a structured and committed manner and you like to contribute your own ideas

Remuneration is based on the degree of completion of the university education. The monthly working time is 60 hours.
