The department “E-3 Sustainment Engineering” at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching is looking for a
Airbus Defence and Space is a global leader in military aviation. Together with NATO we are seeking a highly motivated engineer to work in the interdisciplinary field of NATO AWACS E-3A.
We are a small international Team within the Customer Support Organization located in Manching, close to the maintenance shop floor. We are responsible for the sustainment, reliability as well as for the engineering support of the NATO E-3A aircraft.
Our main goal is to have a safe and reliable NATO AWACS fleet by supporting the customers’ needs. Our mission is to support the NATO AWACS operation.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Within our team of experienced certification engineers you will be the focal point for several aircraft systems, like Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Oxygen, Cooling, Brakes, Water and Waste and Fire Protection. If you prefer Air Transportation Association (ATA) Chapters, here you will find some, such as 21, 25-30, 32, 35, 38.
The daily mission you will have comprises the following tasks:
Analyzing error reports and preparing solution proposals
Generation of Service Bulletin or NATO implementation documentation
Reviewing and refining requirements from AC System and/or Subsystem Level
Preparation and certification of maintenance, inspection and repair concepts
Preparation and evaluation of availability concepts and related analyses
Generate and approve implementation concepts
Elaborating solutions for DMS/DMSMS
In-Service Maintenance Optimization
Supporting Hazard Assessments
Training and supporting the customer and colleagues
This role encompasses regular business trips on an average of once a month.
Sometimes at a short notice. Therefore, travel readiness is required to some extent.
Desired skills and qualifications
University degree related to Aircraft Mechanical Design or Aircraft Heavy Maintenance
Large Experience in Aircraft In-Service Support related to Repair Design and Trouble Shooting
Several years of experience in engineering and/or MRO with military or commercial aircraft, such as NE-3A, JSTAR or P8
Relevant professional experience in aircraft system design and integration
An understanding about certification of repairs
Knowledge in Requirements Management and Requirements Analysis
Broad experience in aircraft design of commercial aircraft (e.g. A320, A350) is a plus
Sound knowledge of technical support for NAEW & C FORCE FLEET would be a plus
A European Driver License Level B is necessary
Negotiation level of English is required
This position will require a security c
