Senior DMPK Scientist* as (Associate) Director* Non-Clinical Safety & DMPK
At BioNTech, you will contribute to non-clinical development and safety activities for global R&D programs and new technology platforms during different stages of pharmaceutical development by implementing strategic drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) paths. BioNTech is expanding its activities towards new therapeutic modalities in different disease areas. You will enable clinical translation of our first-in-class immunotherapeutics and vaccines by assessing DMPK properties of diverse modalities such as mRNA therapeutics, biologics and ADC.
Your main responsibilities are
- Design, execute and report ADME/PK studies, analyzing and interpreting data, and presenting findings and advice back to project teams
- Recommending and leading new strategies within DMPK to develop and implement state-of-the-art technologies
- Aligning program-specific and platform overarching pharmacokinetic activities in cross-functional teams with pre-clinical and clinical stakeholders
- Authoring and review of critical modules for submission packages (Investigator Brochure, IND, scientific advices, regulatory requests)
- Partnering with research leads for the design and data analysis/interpretation of pharmacokinetic (PK), toxicokinetic (TK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) aspects of preclinical studies
- Engage with CROs and external consultants regarding conduct and interpretation of non-clinical DMPK studies.
What you have to offer
- Degree in life sciences, pharmacy, bioanalytical sciences, pharmacokinetics or equivalent. Preferably advanced degree incl. PhD/MD/VMD
- Several years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry including strong knowledge of DMPK in the early and late drug development process
- Strong research background with interest in translating data into insights and recommendations.
- Experience in leading DMPK activities in drug development programs in Oncology and/or Infectious diseases from first-in-human to market authorization in a matrix organisation.
- Proficient in using Phoenix WinNonlin for PK/PD modeling. Familiarity with other software like Simcyp, PK-Sim, Monolix, R, MATLAB is a plus.
