The role requires leadership in providing strategy, governance, and advisory support to country HR and business leaders for Labour & Employee Relations (L&ER). Lead the L&ER strategy for BH in the country, enable HR execution to ensure BH has an aligned strategy between employee needs and business outcomes. Establish frameworks and tools to embed and localize best-in-class approaches to employee relations, including CBA strategy and contract negotiations strategy.
As a Labour and Employee Relations Country Lead – Germany (d/f/m), you will be responsible for:
- Being responsible for labour agreements and accountable for relationship engagement with Labour Relations representative groups (e.g. Works councils) in defining the tone and approach for bargaining and ensuring measures are in place for compliance with contracts.
- Being accountable for oversight and management of programs, policies, procedures, and employment practices that are compliant with local laws and regulations.
- Being accountable for the development of best practices for HR in ensuring equitable treatment, and fair behaviours in the workplace.
- Providing day-to-day advice to HR and Business leaders providing insights on labour activities and innovative and preventative practices
- Operating as a thought leader within the profession and help shape the external environment in legislative, regulatory and policy areas related to labour and employee relations in Germany.
- Partner with the HR leadership team and other key internal stakeholders to inform strategies, consider and integrate feedback, and build action plans; collaborate with Legal and other stakeholders as needed for guidance to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Use data and analytics to make decisions on Labour and Employee Relations practices, ensuring competitive posture of programs and policies, as well as consistency across the Company.
- Define end to end process vision across functions and the business, align end-to-end process roadmap with strategic vision, with Global Process Owner (GPO), where needed, resolve disputes and advocate for Global Process Owner (GPO), resolve conflicts between short-term and long-term vision and/or between process and operational goals, and partner with GPO to make key decisions related to processes, including target setting and financial management with a focus on balancing reducing process costs, increasing efficiency, and maximizing investment returns.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have proven experience in employment law with several years of business experience in a global enterprise
- Have a qualification in relation to labour and employment law is preferred and minimum of Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Demonstrate L&ER expertise and leadership experience.
- Have a broad strategic view of labour issues across the country.
- Strong business acumen and an ability to understand business strategies and plans
- Ability to build strong relationships and drive trust across a diverse organization.
- Ability to drive clear communication and engagement at all levels including Board, and present data in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience managing complex ER cases within a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate experience as a chief spokesperson in labour contract negotiations, preparation and conducting of labour arbitration.
- Hands on experience providing day-to-day advice and counsel on various labour and employee relations issues are required.
- Have experience managing labour relations elements of mergers, acquisition, divestitures, and organization restructurings.
- Have the ability to drive innovation and act as a thought leader both internally and externally with long term focus.

- Strong MS office and related talent management technology tools skills are required.
