The on-the-job training or dual study is offered by educational institutions and includes a practical training for which the Leipzig International School gGmbH has a training place to offer.

Our Leipzig International Kindergarten, opened in June 2014, provides over 270 children aged 1 to 6 with a full-day early education programme. We are fortunate to be working in an attractive, purpose-built facility that hosts a wide range of indoor classrooms and play spaces as well as a spacious, landscaped outdoor learning environment.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Care for children ages from 12 months up to 6 years
Collaborate with team members to create a safe and stimulating learning environment in which the children can discover and develop their intellectual, physical, social and creative potential
Promote the motto of our school “learning to be a citizen of the world”, so that children develop the skills to think and act with openness to the perspectives, values and traditions of other individuals, cultures and communities, and thus develop an international understanding
Develop age-appropriate, child-focused and theme-based activities based on the guidelines, ethos and objectives provided by Saxony’s State Curriculum for Kindergarten (Sächsischer Bildungsplan) and the Early Years Foundation Stage
Look for opportunities to promote development that fosters the children’s love of learning, curiosity, creativity and independence
Observe, support, guide and participate in children’s play
Collaborate with a team of colleagues to continuously improve the overall quality of care, education and learning at Leipzig International Kindergarten
Support the children with life skills, including dressing, toileting, and independent eating

Your profile

Fluency in written and verbal English or German, with basic understanding in the other
Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
Committed to our students and their learning, well-being and safety
A team player who is flexible, open to change, solution-oriented, all with a good sense of humour
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function
Strong communication, reflection, feedback, empathy and intercultural skills
The ability to challenge situations and to change things for the better
Experience of working in an internationally-minded and diverse school community is preferred
Fluency in written and verbal English or German, with basic understanding in the other
