The Operations and Risk unit in Statkraft’s market segment (M) is the hub of all operations supporting our Trading and Origination activities, and Asset Management for Europe & US. The department is responsible for all processes and operations in the Back Office Europe & US, Risk Management, New Products & Investment Support, and the Digitalization Office for supporting our Trading & Origination activities. The responsibility of the unit is to ensure accurate and high-quality results in all operational activities to support Statkraft’s growth ambitions.

The mission of the Digitalization Office is to create value for Statkraft Trading & Origination activities by providing state-of-the-art digital solutions to MT (Trading), MO (Origination), MR (Operations & Risk) and MF (Finance), with a strategic and professional interface towards IT. Digital solutions include systems and solutions, but also data and data governance.

In our Finance, Risk, and Portfolio Management Platform team (MRDS), we are now looking for a colleague to take the role of Business Analyst for an inhouse developed reporting platform, built on SAP BW/4 HANA. The system is currently utilized for financial reporting and reconciliation purposes, but soon its scope will be expanded to encompass daily risk and liquidity reporting as well. The MRDS team is responsible for owning the business-critical IT solutions in the finance, risk-, and portfolio management domain. The team currently consists of 8 colleagues but will be ramping up to cover a larger scope of solutions going forward.

Your role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the ongoing development and enhancement of our rapidly expanding reporting platform. This platform, built on the SAP BW/4 HANA framework, currently serves as a critical component for financial reporting and reconciliation. However, its functionality will soon extend to encompass daily risk and liquidity reporting as well. This platform will play an important role in the future system landscape for our Risk & Finance departments. As Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

• Support product development and enhancement initiatives for the reporting platform, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our financial reporting and risk management functions.
• Collaborating closely with stakeholders from finance, risk, and IT departments to understand their requirements and translate them into functional specifications for the reporting platform.
• Conducting thorough analysis of existing business processes and identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
• Facilitating workshops and meetings to gather user requirements, summarize feedback, and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
• Working closely with the development team to provide clear and comprehensive documentation, including user stories, use cases, and process flows.
• Participating in the testing and quality assurance activities, ensuring that the reporting platform meets the specified requirements and performs accurately.
• Assisting in the development and delivery of training materials and conducting training sessions for end-users.
• Monitoring and analyzing the performance of the reporting platform, identifying any issues or bottlenecks, and proposing appropriate solutions.

• Higher education in finance, economics, or engineering with strong academic results.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the commodity trading industry or financial services sector.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting processes, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with SAP BW/4 HANA or similar reporting and data warehousing platforms.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable specifications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
