Under the guidance of the Senior Scientist, the Scientist will be tasked with supervising and providing support for academic research partnerships. The primary objective of this role is to play a pivotal part in expanding and enriching the knowledge base in clinical and basic science related to cardiac unloading and cardiac recovery within the ISS/Academic Research group at Abiomed. The position involves supporting both pre-clinical and clinical research, collaborating with leading academic institutions, and serving as a liaison between the company and research sites.

Qualifications:

• Master's or diploma degree in life sciences with a focus on biochemistry, molecular medicine, or a related field
• Prior experience in directing and conducting academic research
• Experience in clinical trial design and a comprehensive understanding of associated regulatory pathways
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the Medical Device Sector, preferably in Cardiovascular, or 2+ years of post-doctoral training in a cardiovascular research lab
• Demonstrated experience in writing and publishing the results of academic research
• Innovative, independent, and reliable working behavior, coupled with high intrinsic motivation
• Proactive team player with a readiness of mind and a strong passion for science
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally, approximately 15% of the time
