What you will do
Building the future
In our geoanalytics group, we conduct research in the field of information extraction from satellite-based Earth observation imagery. We develop novel methods for the acquisition, processing, fusion, analysis, and visualization of own data from EMI nanosatellite and commercial Earth observation data. You will support us in developing innovative solutions for applications based on Earth observation data.

With your expertise and creative ideas, you will design and develop applications with modern graphical user interfaces, integrating and visualizing sensor and geospatial data. You will create APIs and geospatial data analysis tools and will be responsible for project acquisition and management.

What you bring along
- You have completed a university degree (Master/Diploma) in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Physics, Data Science, or a related field of study, supplemented by a PhD.
- Proven experience in the development of software products, especially for spatial-temporal prediction problems, with a focus on Python. Experience in creating and deploying REST APIs using Python web frameworks.
- Proficient in CI/CD tools and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres). Additional experience in UX/UI development for web applications, as well as in remote sensing, statistics, big data analytics, data/ML engineering, or geoscience, would be advantageous.
- With your independent, communicative, and structured approach to work, you will enrich the interdisciplinary teamwork in our department.
- German and English language skills at least at B2 level in both written and spoken forms complete your profile.
