Process Engineer Extrusion in Hamburg bei tesa

As expert (m/f/d) in the Process Engineering Team and collaborator in the Solvent-free Processes laboratory, you are responsible for the development of manufacturing processes for special adhesive tapes on a pilot and production scale based on extrusion technology. Our adhesive tape developments with solvent-free adhesive systems depend on your expertise when it comes to suitable production concepts including compounding and coating (die or calander). You further develop these processes and technologies, work closely with plant personnel and score points with your hands-on mentality. In international teams, you work together on conceptual designs of new production plants worldwide up to SOP - starting with supplier discussions and ending with practical trials.

• Development of machine layouts and production concepts, implementation and evaluation at pilot scale and transfer to production scale as part of product and technology development projects
• Planning, execution and supervision of pilot plant trials
• Assumption of product responsibility in all matters relating to quality, efficiency and optimization of new and existing products across all manufacturing steps in the technology center
• Continuous personal development in the technology area and structured know-how development as well as its internal tesa dissemination, active development of an internal as well as external network (e.g. suppliers, cooperation partners, etc.)
• Intellectual Property (IP): monitoring of competitors, creation of own IP, ensuring FTO (freedom to operate) for new developments

• Completed studies in engineering (preferably plastics technology, process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar), ideally first professional experience in the field of polymer processing & extrusion.
• Proven technical competence and analytical skills, supported by a creative mind and drive to act independently
• Enjoy practical work in the technical center as well as project-dependent willingness to travel to the production facilities of the machine suppliers or the tesa plants
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in collaboration with operations, R&D, plants, and external partners & suppliers
• Proficiency in MS Office applications in the context of project management and documentation; simulation software and CAD desirable
• Business fluent language skills in German and English
