MSF is an independent international medical relief organisation, with 28 offices worldwide. When large-scale epidemics occur, when areas in crisis are too dangerous for many other organisations, then our medical teams are there to assist the affected population. We organise basic medical care, treat the injured, carry out vaccination campaigns, train local staff and build up medical infrastructure. In long-term aid projects our teams fight diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, sleeping sickness, and HIV/AIDS.
Advocacy Manager
tasks and responsibilities
From carefully building a sensitive advocacy strategy, in line with MSF policies and values, to writing reports on the exclusion of certain communities from medical care, you will help MSF to address the root causes of crisis affecting the populations it serves.
As an Advocacy Manager, you build and maintain relationships with key interlocutors - authorities, local communities, UN agencies, other humanitarian actors, international stakeholders - to advance issues and concerns important to MSF, and to coordinate initiatives. Further you advise the Country Management Team on operational strategy with a particular view on increasing local/national visibility and ensuring good acceptance for MSF projects.
The Advocacy Manager also organize roundtable discussions, trainings, briefings, etc. on topics such as humanitarian principles, monitoring/data collection, stakeholder mapping, and ongoing and future advocacy activities to engage MSF staff on these concerns.
