Research Associate (f/m/d) – Bioinformatics for Single-Cell and/or Spatial Transcriptomics

with a keen interest in software development and applying state-of-the-art bioinformatics methods to analysis of single-cell/-nuclei and spatial omics readouts.
We are applying advanced methods in single-cell/-nuclei and spatial transcriptomics to generate large volumes of biological data. The selected candidate will work in close collaboration with wet-lab scientists and project teams to analyze large volumes of biological data and contribute to our understanding of cell-type specific changes in various diseases.
Your key responsibilities:
- Design and implement methods and algorithms for single-cell omics data analysis in the framework of our in-house data analysis platform
- Improve data processing capabilities with novel tools and extend them towards additional single-cell omics data types
- Support life science researchers in interdisciplinary project teams in various research areas with Bioinformatics and Data Analysis expertise
Your ideal qualifications:
- Master’s degree with several years of relevant professional experience or PhD in Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Computer Science, Computational Biology or a related discipline
- Proficiency in working with bioinformatics methods and tools in the field of next-generation sequencing or other high-throughput methods
- Experience with single-cell and/or spatial transcriptomics analysis tools
- Strong programming skills in least one programming language, experience in programming R
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work both in team and independently in a fast-paced work environment
- Experience in working with Linux systems is a plus
- Experience in web-development (in particular, R/Shiny) and data visualization is a plus
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
