Your Internship
As part of your internship, you will be working with anti-cancer treatments such as monoclonal antibodies and small molecules. The mode of action and the efficacy of these treatments is of primary importance to us.
After an intensive training phase, where you will learn the basic techniques used in pharmacological research in oncology, you will be given your own research project, which you will plan and perform independently.
During your Internship, you will:
be fully integrated into a highly dynamic team, specializing in ex vivo pharmacological analyses for 6 months.
Your main role will be to support the ex vivo ImmunoPD group with their daily work and by doing so also assisting our preclinical research in the field of cancer immunotherapy.
Your main focus will be performing Flow Cytometry experiments. Working closely with the ImmunoPD team, you will help establish and validate Flow Cytometry assays.
In addition, you will support the team in performing Flow Cytometry experiments in preclinical studies by, for example, processing tissue samples or staining Flow Cytometry samples.
You will document your results and present them in the group meetings.
Who you are
You are currently studying for your masters in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine, Medicine or a comparable subject
You are highly motivated with better than average grades and already have a good knowledge of immunology.
Advanced experience in Flow Cytometry (>8 colors) is essential
It would be an advantage when you have already processed blood and tissue samples
You have already used the software FlowJo as well as having experience with Microsoft Office.
Experience with Tibco Spotfire or Graphpad Prism would be an advantage.
You are interested in cancer research and drug development.
You have a good grasp of both spoken and written English.
You are self-motivated, have good communication skills and enjoying working as part of a team.

Starting March 1st 2024 for 6 months. This is an internship, a continuation at Roche as a part of masters or diploma degree is not possible. You have to be registered as a student for the duration of this internship. Ideally for 4-6 months in Penzberg. This position is suitable for students looking for a full time internship.
