Your new role
The Market and Competitive Intelligence Analyst will support the DS Product Organisation. Reporting to the Director of Product Strategy, you will be responsible for providing insights from market and competitive intelligence research and developing them into actionable strategies. You will have a deep understanding of Digital Science’s products and be a subject matter expert on competitive activity, market, and industry trends.
What you’ll be doing
Competitive tracking and reporting: establish a competitive intelligence framework and engage key contributors across the business. Identify, monitor and manage sources of information/intelligence to build a picture of competitors and their activities, threats, and opportunities. Provide regular reporting to keep colleagues up to date on competitive developments.
Market analysis: market sizing and market share analysis.
Produce in-depth reports on key competitors and market segments as proactive standalone projects, responsively to market shifts or as needed to contribute to broader strategic projects.
Deliver timely and insightful updates on developments and communicate to key stakeholders.
Curate competitive and market insights in an accessible way for a range of colleagues including senior management, sales, marketing, and product management.
Work with stakeholders to turn insights into actionable strategies.
What you’ll bring to the role
Strong analytical acumen
Ability to gather data from multiple sources and synthesise into compelling reports or presentations tailored to the relevant audience (product teams, sales, senior management)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and influence
Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
Enthusiasm for learning
Must love science, even if you aren’t a scientist yourself
Minimum of 3 years experience in competitive intelligence, market intelligence or strategy
Experience in publishing, STM, or scientific digital technology is a plus
