We are searching for a highly motivated and qualified scientist with research interests in the area of:
Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs) and Implant-Associated Infections
The successful candidate will join a dynamic research lab (http://klinische-chemie.uk-koeln.de/forschung) and participate in developing novel antimicrobial peptides through chemical modifications as well as testing their antimicrobial properties using in vitro and in vivo mouse experiments. We are especially interested in developing suitable alternatives to conventional antibiotics for wound-, implant-associated and systemic infections.
Applicants will be performing experiments in protein analytics, cell culture as well as mouse experiments.
Applications are invited from candidates who recently obtained their Diploma/Masters degree. The applicant should have a strong background in biochemistry, microbiology or similar fields as well as enthusiasm and motivation in the translational aspects of AMP development. The candidate will be actively involved in mouse work and previous experience is desirable, but not mandatory.
