Better together. For life.
We are the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) - and we stand for excellent competence in research, teaching and comprehensive healthcare in our clinics. Every day, our approximately 14,400 employees strive anew to make the world a little healthier with their contribution.
It is our aspiration to be one of the leading university hospitals - and at the same time the best employer in our industry. At UKE, for example, we firmly believe that successful and fulfilling work should be in harmony with employees' personal needs and individual lifestyles. And as diverse as these are, so is our range of individual solutions.
Welcome to the UKE.
The III. Department of Medicine and the Hamburg Center for Kidney Health (www.hckh.org) at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf are dedicated to the care of patients and to experimental and clinical kidney research with several internationally leading research programs. You will be an integral part of a highly motivated and interdisciplinary team of scientists, students and clinicians aiming to identify mechanisms and new treatment options for various human kidney diseases.
We are looking for a highly motivated, curious and enthusiastic post-doc with extensive experience in molecular biology, the separation and characterization of extracellular vesicles and animal models of immune-mediated disease or kidney diseases to join our lively and dedicated team to elucidate molecular mechanisms of immune-mediated kidney diseases.
The position offers the applicant a unique opportunity to work on important medical issues in a community of interactive research labs, bioinformatics experts, core facilities, and computational resources.
Our young group is specifically interested in understanding the role of extracellular vesicles in the development, maintenance and resolution of kidney diseases. We assume that extracellular vesicles can be used both as biomarkers and as therapeutic targets and/or vehicles to improve the diagnosis and management of patients with kidney diseases.
We offer a full-time position (part-time position possible) as scientific employee in the field of medical research at the UKE starting on the 1st of March 2024 (flexible). The position is third-party funded and the initial contract will be for 3 years with the possibility of further extension.
