For our headquarter in Munich, Germany we are looking for a (Senior) Manager Climate & Enviroment.
Job Description - Expert role in the BayWa Group ESG Team in close collaboration with the Group Lead Climate & Environment as well as enterprise functions, segments and subsidiaries
- Contribute to enhancing and driving forward BayWa’s climate and environment goals and initiatives, such as delivering on the current decarbonization targets, updating the climate strategy and developing a biodiversity and water strategy
- Support the identification, development and commercialization of climate and environment initiatives with measurable business value, unlocking new business opportunities for BayWa
- Analyze best practices and benchmarks across relevant industries as well as emerging regulations, translate those into BayWa initiatives and contribute towards meeting stakeholder expectations on climate and environment
- Support the collection and analysis of relevant and required climate and environment data across the organization, including the corporate carbon footprint, water data and other relevant KPIs and performance indicators
- Contribute to BayWa’s ESG reporting in line with external requirements like the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD, e.g. ESRS E1 and E4). Support BayWa’s climate and environment contributions to relevant ESG ratings and rankings.
Qualifications - Master degree in business, (environmental) engineering or any field related to ESG
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in environmental sustainability in an advisory or delivery capacity
- Demonstrated expertise in climate-related and environmental matters, such as impact accounting, development of environmental targets and strategies, designing transformation programs and shaping operating models
- Knowledge of best practice ESG standards as well as current and emerging regulations and initiatives such as CSRD, SBTi, SBTN, TCFD, TNFD, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, RE100, etc.
- Impact-driven ESG enthusiast
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage cross-functional initiatives
- Structured and independent way of working
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced quantitative skills in data analysis and visualization are a plus
- Excellent communication skills in English and German
