Star Alliance Singapore is a subsidiary management organisation that coordinates Star Alliance activities and manages joint projects on behalf of the world’s largest airline alliance. The holding company is based in Frankfurt, Germany. Our primary customers are our numerous member airlines from around the globe, but we interact with consumers through a number of products and forums.
In your role as the Social Media specialist in the Singapore office, you will report to the Director, Communications & Marketing, working in close liaison with an external media agency. This is an exciting challenge for the successful candidate who is motivated to drive Star Alliance’s global voice, following, engagement and brand positioning in the social media space, representing all 26 member airlines as Star Alliance members.
This position is in a small team integrated in the Alliance Development and Communications business unit. The team is responsible for co-ordinating communications and marketing activities of the international brand of Star Alliance.
Job Summary
- Manage and monitor third-party agencies to adhere to approved policies, such as usage and protection of brand and image
- Plan and execute paid social media campaigns
- Ensure accuracy and appropriacy of social media content suggested by third-party agencies
- Manage performance of KPIs for follower growth and engagement rates
- Lead channel community management and online reputation management
- Use appropriate tools to analyse the performance of Star Alliance social media platforms as well as competitive alliance communications, media, partnerships, and promotional activities
- Liaise and maintain relationships and communication with social media specialist counterparts at Star Alliance member airlines, including the organisation of regular meetings and leading relevant expert working groups
- Support and amplify Star Alliances’ member airlines social media messaging, and vice versa
- Develop and execute overall social media strategy, in line with wider Star Alliance business goals and broader marketing plans, which includes collaborating with other business units, for strategy alignment and implementation of an integrated marketing communications plan
Your Profile
- A minimum of 3 years work experience in a social media role in a reputable brand or social media agency
- Knowledge of social media tools and techniques is essential, and design software such as Adobe creative suite is preferred – please indicate which tools you are familiar with in your CV.
- Clear, concise, impactful communication skills, with a flair for creating writing, as well as practical copywriting and/or storytelling experience, demonstrated in your letter of motivation
- High level of intercultural awareness – please give examples in your letter of motivation
- High level of proficiency in English is essential, as it is the sole language used for communication with Star Alliance Member Airlines and other external stakeholders
- Keen eye for detail, demonstrated by including all requested details in your letter of motivation
