Global IT Land and Digital Solutions is the responsible IT department for the efficient and digitized development and operation of the worldwide DB Schenker Landtransport. Our IT solutions support business processes along the entire value chain from quotation to billing.
We are constantly working on finding optimal IT solutions and accompanying the productive implementation in the DB Schenker national subsidiaries.
The product COS (Customer Order System) is an order manipulation application, which allows us to operate and interact with our largest Global Accounts on order level, optimizing and finetuning orders, prior and after operating the shipments in our general Transport Management Systems.
The application is currently built in COBOL with DB2, running in 41 installations globally on several IBM i-Series machines. It is our task to migrate the entire setup into our target IT landscape, consisting of modern technology tools, such as, Java, Springboot, Postgres, all running in the cloud.
We are looking for a flexible and agile team player to support the migration of the application into the new IT eco system.
The Scrum (Agile) Master is an agile leader. As permanent part of an agile team, you are accountable for establishing the team’s agile approach. You do this by helping everyone understand agile theory and practice, both within the agile team and the organization the team is in contact with. We see this role combined with the role of a demand manger to get a deeper understanding of the application.
You are accountable for the team’s effectiveness. You do this, as an Agile (Scrum) Master, by enabling the team to improve its agile practices and, as a Demand Manager, you describe demands / write stories in a way that enables the developers to directly start their work.
Your tasks
- Help the Agile team to focus on creating high-value work items that meet the Definition of Done.
- Coach the team members in self-management and cross-functionality.
- Ensure that all Agile events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.
- Support the Product Owner with techniques for effective Product Vision Definition and Backlog Management.
- Facilitate stakeholder collaboration as requested or needed.
- Help the Product Owners to find techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.
- Help the Agile Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.
- Establish an environment where the Agile team can be effective.
- Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions.
- Ensure the removal of impediments.
- Address team dynamics.
- Ensure a good relationship between the team and product owner, as well as others outside the team.
- Lead, train, and coach the organization in its Agile adoption.
- Plan and advise Agile implementations within the organization.
- Removing barriers between stakeholders and Agile Teams.
- Demand-management handling and organizing.
- Communication with all internal and external demand stakeholders.
- Produce detailed demand descriptions / story writing.
