Project Procurement Contract Manager (f/m/d) bei Heidelberg Materials AG
The Project Procurement Contract Manager (f/m/d) is supporting the project team and the Leader of the Project Procurement Team within a given plant project and is responsible for the Contract Management and Contract/Order/P.O. preparation by building robust contracts in very close cooperation with different stakeholders, esp. legal to protect HM against potential claims and minimize project risks. Furthermore, the Project Procurement Contract Manager is ensuring consistent claim identification/management process in the direction of suppliers.
- Take an active role in large international plant projects by participating in feasibility studies, pre-qualifications, contract preparations, negotiations with contractors and on-site contract execution including change and complaint management.
- Collaborate with our legal team in creating and managing and executing standard procurement contracts in strict accordance with the Group’s interests.
- Liaise with our legal, risk management, tax, and accounting personnel to ensure process, policy and prime contractual requirements are met prior to submission to management for approval.
- Periodic progress monitoring and reporting to sourcing management.
- Ensure consistent complaint/claim identification in the direction of suppliers.
- Support critical order negotiations (high value, critical contract set-up).
- Support Global Category/Procurement Leaders and Buyers.
- Participate in and/ or initiate periodic (preferably weekly) project meetings with the participation of quality, lead engineering, planning, logistics, project engineering manager etc. as applicable, who interface with sourcing at various stages and generates record notes/action list from these meetings and follows up on the actions.
- Regularly review and report the fulfilment by suppliers of all contractual requirements.
- Oversee and execute complaint/claim management process with the suppliers in coordination with Global Category/Procurement Leaders and the MPT and our legal team, including preparation, negotiation, and closure of claims.
- Document claim data results according to Claim Management processes, methods, and tools to meet auditable requirements.
- Conduct ‘Lessons Learned’ and ensure implementation of improvement actions within the organization.
- Support management of securities and bonds (advance, performance, and warranty etc.) from the suppliers.
- Consolidate experience feedback to the Global Category/Procurement Leaders.
Education & Trainings
- Degree in economics, supply chain, operations, or associated fields
- Excellent understanding in Contract Management and economic law matters
- Familiarity with IChemE and NEC is desirable
Professional Experience
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in contract and commercial claim management in large / major projects
- Exposure to Sourcing and/or legal topics
- Experience in negotiation
Behavioral and/or Technical Know-how
- Good understanding of legal/contractual aspects of an EPC contract
- Risk management knowledge
- Good communicator and teamwork capability
- Strong negotiation skills either with supplier base or with customers
- General knowledge of purchasing standards, policies, procedures, and Sourcing management philosophy
- Skilled in analytics and applications of digital tool in the procurement process

Language Skills
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
- Knowledge of any other language would be an advantage
