IOM’s operations cover diverse thematic areas such as: Humanitarian Relief Assistance, Protection (including Gender based Violence and Child Protection), Shelter and Non-food items, Health and Psychosocial Support, Resettlement, and Movement Management.
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office, the direct supervision of the Sub-Office’s National Resources Management Officer (RMO), the technical supervision of the Country Office’s Supply Chain Officer and in close coordination with relevant units at Headquarters and the Administrative Centres, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for the following:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Monitor that all warehouse transactions are done in line to IOM internal guidelines and in close coordination with the supervisor. Ensure all movement of goods are timely recorded.
- Coordinate reception, storage, packing, kitting, labelling and dispatch of goods from/to the warehouse.
- Coordinate with labour and make sure follow-up that daily timesheet are updated.
- Plan and organize efficient and safe storing of goods at the warehouse, according to available space and requirements.
- Monitor that all goods are properly stored and timely registered into the warehouse inventory data base.
- Manage all financial aspects related to warehouse and take responsibility for all stored goods.
- Maintain records of all transactions, ensuring that an efficient filing system for stock records of all documents are kept.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress report for warehousing activities.
- Coordinate and verify that Stock Receiving Reports are raised immediately & that stock cards / bin cards are updated immediately.
- Verify that all warehouse dispatches are supported by a fully approved Stock Withdrawal Forms, IOM Waybills and copies are kept on file.
- Monitor that all returned items are checked, received and record is updated.
- Oversee and assist in the Mid-Year and Annual Physical Stock Counts.
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelors’ degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with at least four years of relevant professional experience, preferably in similar roles;
OR Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with at least six years of relevant working experience, preferably in similar roles.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in warehousing, assets and stock inventory management;
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage;
- Confirmed interest in operational activities and in the functioning of an international organization.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons of diverse cultural and national backgrounds;
