Airbus Defence and Space in Manching is looking for a
Equipment Engineer (d/m/f) for Eurofighter Sensor Systems

Our team is responsible to develop sensor equipment solutions for the Eurofighter, e.g. E-Scan Radar as well as Defensive Aids products, within national as well as multi-national projects supporting the overall product life cycle: starting with technology and research projects, feasibility studies and system definition phases, development, integration and qualification tasks and finally to support the introduction to customer fleet.

We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to strengthen our team regarding our systems engineering activities for the new Eurofighter E-Scan Radar system.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities:
Analyse Eurofighter Avionics architecture and design as well as sensor-related customer requirements to derive sensor equipment requirements
Support project management and procurement process; analyse supplier offers and reporting
Develop sensor equipment design concepts and define functional as well as non-functional interfaces in cooperation with the equipment supplier
Support requirements based engineering of the supplier
Harmonize development, qualification and certification planning between Engineering, Airworthiness and equipment supplier
Validate supplier’s equipment-system level development artefacts; manage development milestone reviews
Lead technical workshops with stakeholders from Airbus, suppliers and partner companies
Support equipment integration at supplier’s premises as well as at Airbus (e.g. during rig and flight test campaigns)

Desired skills and qualification:
Bachelor/Master in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Knowledge about requirements management and requirements based engineering
Ability to establish SMART requirements and to negotiate agreements with supplier
Understanding of certification and qualification requirements for airborne systems
Detailed knowledge about Eurofighter Weapon System and Avionics is an advantage
Knowledge about Radar technology and Electronic Warfare is an advantage
Experience with supplier management is an advantage
Fluent German and English
Eager to work in international projects and as part of an interdisciplinary team
Interest and ability to work on different projects simultaneously
