The Energy Transition & Regulatory Affairs department of RWE AG is the Group's think tank, that aims at analytically anticipating the transformation of the energy system in the dimensions of energy markets, technologies and regulation. Opportunities and challenges for the Group are identified at an early stage, recommendations and regulatory Group positions are developed and concrete business opportunities are implemented with external partners. The Energy System Analytics team is primarily responsible for analyses (deep dives) of questions on energy economics, for identifying and monitoring relevant technologies, and for cooperative ventures with external industry partners to decarbonise the industry.
- Funding monitoring office (FMO)
- The FMO is the platform for exchange within the RWE group on funding related matters, opportunities and ideas to maximize potential (R&D) project funding and realization probability
- You will be in charge of this platform, orchestrating the exchange, facilitate the knowledge transfer between RWE departments and with external funding experts (consultants) and moderate in case of diverging opinions between RWE departments
- Further, you will actively develop and implement improvement measures to enhance the impact of the FMO
- Strategic analyses of markets and business models related to the energy transition
- You will conduct comprehensive strategic analyses of markets and sustainable business models and perform deep dives into relevant questions related to the energy transition
- Transferring complex content and analysis results into presentations for different target audiences and preparing well-founded recommendations for RWE's top management will be also part of the role
- Technology Scouting
- The aim of RWEs technology scouting is to stay up to date on all relevant technology developments potentially impacting the RWEs current and future activities
- You will work together with the technology scouting lead, supporting knowledge exchange across the RWE group, setting the scouting agenda and ensuring management ready preparation of the results
Your powerful skills
- Very good university degree in economics, engineering, natural sciences or in other energy market related fields
- Multiple years of previous work experience in energy industry related positions (e.g. in utilities, consultancies, relevant research institutes, or similar)
- Relevant former experience related to at least one of the tasks outlined above and the strong interest in working yourself into all of the outlined areas
- High potential and willingness to develop further, either from Expert to Senior Expert or to develop the skillset for a first leadership role within RWE
- Very good stakeholder management competencies
- High level of self-motivation and enjoy working in a team
- Business fluent English skills, both written and spoken
