The Internal Audit unit strengthens RWE’s resilience to external and internal threats and risks, supporting RWE’s growing green investment and growth strategy. We give impulses that help RWE to safely navigate the path towards climate neutrality by sustainably protecting RWE’s assets.
The audit team provides independent auditing services to create added value for the RWE Group, to continuously improve business processes and to strengthen RWE’s credibility with its stakeholders. Therefore, your results will have high visibility up to RWE top management and stakeholders.
- Responsibility for delivering risk-based internal audits, in particular in the trading arm of the Group
- Engagement planning, field work, alignment of audit results and recommendations and compilation of tailored reports for senior management and boards
- Evaluation of process efficiency and effectiveness of the internal control system across the desks and functions in the trading life cycle on the prompt, forward and new markets
- Advisory to the business during regular and ad-hoc audits with comprehensive internal audit expertise and profound risk analysis and assessment
Your powerful skills
- University degree (e.g. Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Physics)
- Several years of professional experience as an internal auditor or as an expert in the area of energy economics
- Understanding of trading, ideally (energy) commodity trading or trading related risk management
- Understanding of physical and financial trading instruments as well as related end-to-end processes in front, middle and back office
- Business fluency in English (verbal and in writing) and ability to summarise complex topics
- Mind-set for challenging existing processes
- Pronounced intercultural sensitivity and ability to convince other people
Advantageous, but not a must
- Professional certifications (CIA, CRMA or CISA)
- Experience of front office trading / origination or market risk management
- Knowledge of energy market regulations (MAR, REMIT, EMIR, etc.)
- Knowledge of IT systems and database tools (especially OpenLink, Endur, IDEA / ACL)
