The role of the Regional Procurement & Logistics manager in the Europe region (+5 Counties) is to set specific Procurement & Logistics (PL) strategies in line with the Division and PL Practice strategy. Accountable for direct material and services within the Region. Reports to the Division PL manager and leads and implements procurement activities and best practices across the Region in all Local Division teams.
- Contributes to definition, implementation, and execution of spend management and sourcing strategies for direct material and services in line with the Division strategy. Leads PL activities across the Region. Has co-responsibility for indirect spend and for transports & logistic spend with the Global Indirect and Transport & Logistics sourcing Teams.
- Drives and consolidates annual targets and scorecards for Net Material Inflation (NMI), supplier quality, supplier delivery performance (on-time delivery (OTD)) etc. and align them with the Division PL manager and the Local Division teams in Europe. Ensures long-term planning as well as monthly monitoring of results and encourages continuous improvement.
- Drives the development and the implementation of the cost, productivity, quality, delivery plans in line with the PL Division strategies.
- Pro-actively works to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery.
- Acts as sponsor of the global Category Team Leadership network with PL and organizes and leads category teams, including cross-functional representation (Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Site Projects, etc.).
- Responsible for development of partnerships and leads negotiations with local suppliers and supplier partners.
- Ensures the execution of supplier audits and monitors audit reports as well as improvement activities based on audit conclusions and recommendations with the support of the SQE team.
- Implements ABB standards, guidelines, instructions and tools to improve PL activities in different units for the assessment and selection of most competitive suppliers.
- Implements ABB standards on sustainability and business ethics as well as the Supplier Code of Conduct within the supply base.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related disciplines
- Minimum of +12 years of experience and track record in sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management in global complex companies preferably in Industrial automation, automotive, aerospace environment.
- Proven experience of managing a spend volume (both direct and indirect) in the range of hundreds of millions
- Very good understanding of regulations and geopolitical environment in Europe
- Highly proactive and results-driven attitude, strategic approach to decision-making in a global perspective. Change management experience is a distinct plus
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken and teamwork skills, organizational skills, and people management
- Experience in a highly international and multi-cultural environment
- Knowledge of contractual law and regulations, international trade, code standards at global/local and regional level
- Knowledge of SAP Ariba is a plus
- Availability to travel globally as required
- Location: preferably in UK, Italy, and Germany where we have our production plants.
