The group of Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Perakakis in the Division of Metabolic and Vascular Medicine of the Department of Internal Medicine III of Carl Gustav Carus hospital and the University Study Center for Metabolic Diseases (Director: Prof. Dr. N. Perakakis) in the Medical Faculty of Technische Universität Dresden investigate the pathophysiological changes observed during diabetes development and progression and the effects of treatments against obesity, diabetes and lipid disorders.

This full-time-Position is limited for 12 months. An extension is possible.
You will participate in all the activities related to clinical and clinical-translational projects in the field of Metabolic Diseases (obesity, diabetes, lipid disorders, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease). You will be involved in processing and biobanking of samples from clinical studies, in the performance of clinical tests, as well as in data management and data analysis. You will perform cell culture experiments and analyses with molecular biology methods (e.g. FACS sorting, DNA-RNA isolation, Western Blot, qPCR, ELISA). You will contribute to laboratory management and organization. You will be involved in the instruction of new employees and co-supervision of students.
Your Profile:
- Diploma or M.Sc. degree in Biology or related disciplines
- Practical experience in the field of molecular biology and especially in cell culture
- Experience in immunology and clinical research would be an advantage
- Very good organizational skills
- Flexibility with regard to short-term or changing tasks
- Good knowledge of German would be an advantage
