The Group Sensors is looking for an Engineer (f/m/d) Research engineer.
- Design, develop, and implement point and image data acquisition routines tailored for hyperspectral imaging of recycling samples and for high quality data, including solutions for noise reduction, calibration, and correction
- Apply (pre)processing techniques to spectroscopic data from multiple sensors and support the developments of advanced workflows and efficient result generation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate multi-sensor data for comprehensive recycling stream characterisation (focus on polymers and additives) and discuss methods and analytical results with the team and project partners
- Document research findings and contribute to the publication of results in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at relevant conferences
- Completed university studies (Bachelor/Master's degree) in the field of Geosciences, Remote Sensing, Sensors and Instrumentation, or a related field
- Proven experience in fundamental methodology and handling of optical sensors for data acquisition and in data (pre)processing, particularly with hyperspectral imaging data from reflectance cameras, additionally also from Raman and related spectroscopy-based sensors
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail, with experience in the chemical composition of polymers, their additives and their recycling is welcome
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, strongly international team environment, showing high motivation and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Programming skills in Python, or similar languages, with a focus primarily on spectroscopic data analysis, positive are additional experiences with image processing and machine learning applications
- English (fluent), German (basics)
