V.I.E Project engineer - Germany F/H in Mühlberg bei VINCI Construction

As part of VINCI Construction division, EUROVIA Deutschland Industry department produces concrete materials used on construction sites in all of Germany. EUROVIA owned one of the largest Gravel Pitt in Europe, located in the south of Berlin. The annual excavation tonnage reaches 2,2 million Tons. The materials are transported per train towards the construction site, mainly in Berlin. To secure production for the next twenty years, Eurovia will extend this Gravel Pitt in new areas.

The environmental considerations will be a major point for this project, in the scope of the Eurovia engagement to decrease its CO2 footprint by 40% by 2030.

We are looking for a Project engineer to join EUROVIA Deutschland’s dynamic teams. The VIE will have to drive the project of the extension of this Gravel pitt. The opening of this extension is planned for May 2024.

• This opportunity is located in the South of Berlin (Mühlberg). It could also be possible to live in Leipzig or Dresden.

The role:

As part of the gravel pit team, and with the central services of Eurovia Deutschland - this position will play a key role in accompanying the extension and construction of the new installations.

As such, your main missions are:

Engineering/design phase and validation

• Carrying out phases of the engineering phases (drafting and analyzing project risks).
• Validate the technical designed solutions, by the different suppliers.
• Be part of the negotiation and contract team.
• Ensure compliance with the standard imposed by the rules of quality, safety, and environment.
• Take part in the authorization process in interface with the authorities (exploitation and construction).

Production phase

• Manage schedules and coordinate subcontractors on your perimeter (conduct and administer overall job planning and programming).
• Define and ensure the supply of the material needs.
• Monitor daily costs of all time-dependent elements of the project and implications.
• Ensure and supervise the commissioning of the installations.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

• A recognized qualification (Bachelor/Master) in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• First working experience as a site engineer/project engineer in a major contractor in civil construction and infrastructure; or an experience in mechanical project design.
• Keen on construction machines and equipment.
• German speaker (B1 B2 level).
• Strong interpersonal skills, open-mindedness, and curiosity - as you'll be working closely with design and construction teams, suppliers, and more.
• Excellent time management.
• A demonstrable commitment to Health & Safety ensuring everyone goes home safe every day.

To enter the VIE program, you have to be:

• A European citizen aged between 18 and 28 on the date of registration, whatever training level ;
• A graduate student, with a fluent level in English ;
• Have never done any V.I.E. in the past ;
• Do not have worked previously in the host country.
