PURPOSE OF ROLE
Weir Minerals Europe is recruiting a Field Service Engineers to join one of the European Service & Aftermarket teams.
As part of our Services department, the Field Service Engineer will work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders to support business development, sales of products, and aftermarket sales & services, to ensure that customer requirements are met.
It will be expected of the Service Engineer to deliver high level on-site customer support, maintenance and repair service to existing and future clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To offer the highest standards of customer service by being attentive to individual customer’s requirements and ensuring a pro-active, efficient and effective response to customers’ needs;
- Promoting the companies professional image at all times when communicating with customers;
- Monitor your customer’s complaints & warranties and ensure satisfactory follow up;
- Developing solutions for customer issues mainly on site visits;
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and our Customer Services to ensure spare part and repair/replacement orders of customer equipment are correctly processed;
- Equipment installation support and commission support in the field;
- Proactive field service visits to customer installations to maintain our valued contacts and servicing and promoting our world class products;
- Deliver detailed equipment solution based service reports using our (new) mobile Field Service Management (FSM) platform;
- Technical reporting new aftermarket business opportunities whilst using our (new) Salesforce platform;
- Meet personal expense budgets and monthly submission of expenses;
- Recommend inventory stocking quantities to support the business and customer;
- Travel required, mainly during weekdays up to 75% annually;
- Comply with all Service Operations Department and Company policies, procedures, and programs;
- Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations. Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards;
- Attend all face to face and teleconference meetings when requested;
- Responsible for Environmental Health and Safety management and policy commitments as prescribed for this role in Weir's Duty of Care
- Adopting the Weir Zero Harm culture the candidate will be responsible for undertaking risk assessments / method statements by completing them in our mobile FSM system, to ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times
- Weir is enabling our service workforce with mobile software apps to be able to provide instant safety related feedback on hazardous situations on site
- Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Modern Apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or Engineering degree;
- Mechanical technician with 5 years of comminution maintenance experience or an Engineer with 3 years working experience at a quarry, mine or process plant with rotating and comminution equipment;
- Crushing, screening, conveying or machining/fabrication/welding/cutting background;
- Good command of the local language and English (both oral and written);
- Valid driver’s license is essential;
