The R&D Scientist Catalyst Characterization (m/f/d) will support our Research and Development of our Business Unit Catalysts at Heufeld (Germany).
He or She will lead R&D programs which focus on characterization and revealing structure activity relations of heterogeneous catalysts for various applications ranging from bulk processes to the production of specialties.
Responsibilities
- Lead group in the R&D department Material Characterization
- Closely collaborate with product development teams of the R&D Center Heufeld and other R&D teams worldwide
- Evaluate, continuously improve, and further develop catalyst characterization methods
- Monitor steate-of-the-art methodologies for catalyst characterization
- Point of contact for special internal/external customer needs
- Strong focus on characterization related R&D with a link to catalysts, decoupled from routine analyses
- Collaboration with production and quality control to develop suitable methods for monitoring of production processes
Requirements
- PhD in (Technical) Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- Profound knowledge in heterogeneous catalysis
- Extended knowledge in the characterization of catalysts with the relevant standard and advanced analytical methods
- Experience in operation of analytical equipment, optimization of analytical methods, and interpretation of results
- Confident in communication with customers, multicultural, and interdisciplinary teams
- Leadership experience desired
- Team orientation, proactivity, and felxibility
- High engagement, decisiveness, and trustworthiness
- Fluent in English and German
