WHAT’S THE ROLE? Our client is looking for a Manager of Policy and Corporate Communications (EU).
You will be responsible for sharing their unique stories and innovative products with the world. In this role, you will handle outreach and contribute to the communications strategy to support their global policy goals, as well as support corporate events.
You will work closely with Policy and Legal teams, Head of Communications, Europe and Director of Policy and Corporate Communications to make the Internet more versatile, open and healthy by promoting the client’s work on privacy, cybersecurity, platform accountability, competition, and other key initiatives backing the company’s core values and goals. You will play a critical role in helping teams advance their initiatives in these areas by using the public sphere to advance and enhance positions and conversations taking place with key regulatory and legislative bodies globally. You will also assist in building a more robust network of third-party allies who share their mission and commitment to protecting the future of the internet.
You will also support in using key corporate events to help advance the overall company’s narrative. Through creative media and communications work, you will help use acquisitions and key talent additions to flesh out our innovation story, and will lead significant corporate initiatives such as the annual State of the client’s report and policy-related angles.
You’ll lead the European efforts in policy communications, support global ones and help manage / external public affairs and PR agencies.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BE GOOD AT? - 5+ years relevant communications/PR/policy experience
- Excellent writing and social communication skills
- Strong character, ethics, attention to detail and a high standard of performanceLead and execute the appropriate level of research suitable for each project, and report on your findings and recommendations.
- Experience working with policy and academic communities
- Official EU language other than English (German, French) is a big plus
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED? - You should have an extensive PR background; experience in messaging crafting and strong media relations skills are required. If you have a journalism background, wonderful!
